Our Pastor - Rev. Paul J. Makar
Father Paul was assigned to us at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in May of 2020 in the middle of the 2020-2021 COVID Plague. Descended from Ukrainian-American parents, he hails from Perth Amboy, NJ, where his family still faithfully serves at Assumption of the BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church there. A 1994 engineering graduate of SUNY Maritime College, he has previously served as an officer in the United States Navy, having been stationed on combatant warships based in Pearl Harbor, HI, and in Sasebo, Japan. Trained as an engineer, he has also worked in various capacities in the New Jersey area before entering St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Seminary in Washington, DC, in 2004. Having graduated with advanced degrees in Philosophy (Ph.L.) and Theology (M.Div), he was ordained by the hand of Metropolitan +Stefan (Soroka) in May of 2010. Prior to his assignment in West Easton, Father Paul has served the Archeparchy of Philadelphia as Vocations Director and at our parishes in Cherry Hill, NJ; Williamstown, NJ; Wildwood Crest, NJ, summer mission; Minersville, PA; and Middleport, PA.
